Further information
- Theory: This course begins with a brief theory on the Hydrofoil board and safe handling. Also, about Kitefoiling, the instructor explains the difference from regular Kiteboarding in the board management during waterstart and weight distribution while riding.
- Bodydrag: Followingly, the student bodydrags with the foil board until deep enough water.
- Foil board management: Student learns to put the board in his feet while controlling the kite in the correct position.
- Waterstart: First attempts are carefully instructed by the teacher that is constantly connected to the student via radio helmet. It is important that the student has the level of relaunching the kite in very light wind conditions when hydrofoiling is often practiced.
- Taxiing: The student first learns to ride with the board on the water, for learning the correct weight distribution.
- Take-off and flying: It is then time to take the board above the water, and trying to maintain a stable position, with the kite in the correct position.
- Going upwind and downwind
- Jibing and tacking: Changing direction is first taught by taking the board on the water for more stability. Jibing on flight requires a bit more speed, and tacking comes as a latter step because of higher difficulty.
- Jumping and tricks.
