Further information
- Theory: his Kitesurfing course starts with a brief theoretical and practical introduction or check-up (for refreshers) of the functioning of the kite, wind directions, spot assessment, and wind window.
- Kite set-up: inflating it and connecting the lines to it. Also, the various safety systems of the bar will be demonstrated by the instructor.
- Kite control: It is then time for learning to fly the kite while in standing position. Special trainer kites will be used, generating less power for better safety, and with more reactivity for a faster learning process. Exercises include one hand control on all neutral positions, take-off and landing, relaunch.
- Body-dragging: We then begin entering the power zone with the kite for feeling the first pulls on the harness by being dragged in the water. We also practice Upwind bodydragging for entering the water and recovering the board when lost in the water.
- Steady pull: After putting the board in the feet, we start making small power strokes to learn to generate the right pull to stand up on the board.
- Water-start: After managing to get a constant pull from the kite and resistance with the board, students will attempt to stand up on the board. The lucky ones will be experiencing their first rides!
- Riding both directions
- Coming to a controlled stop: By using the kite and the board in coordination.
- Riding upwind, tacking, and jibing.
- Jumping and tricks.
